Dawson Huckabay is a 2017 C/3B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from West Monroe, LA who attends West Ouachita HS. Medium athletic build, has plenty of present strength, good young catcher's build. Shows good arm strength from behind the plate, compact arm action, gets on top of his throws well and makes accurate throws, 2.08 best pop time, can improve footwork and lower half use throwing, 7.13 runner, is a good athlete behind the plate with good quickness, looks to have the athleticism to play other positions well. Right handed hitter, shows confidence in the batter's box, deeper hand load but has quick hands and can turn on velocity, looks to pull the ball and is an aggressive hitter, solid bat speed. Good student.
