Sam Funke is a 2020 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from North Liberty, IA who attends Iowa City Liberty HS. Tall angular build with plenty of physical projection. 7.59 runner, sets up high behind the plate, long actions at present shifting and throwing, 3/4's arm slot with an extended release and developing arm strength. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a big barrel wrap start, long and loose swing with a pull side approach, line drive swing plane, will need to shorten up his approach to the ball. Very good student.
