Blaine Ray is a 2017 OF/ with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Ottawa, KS who attends Ottawa HS. Large frame with present sign of strength, looks bigger than listed. From the outfield, made strong accurate throws to the bag with good carry. Covered a lot of ground in the outfield during games showcasing his speed and defensive instinct on jumps. At the plate, starts with a closed stance and a high hand set. Generates good bat speed through the zone, getting the barrel moving quickly. Showed good power to his pull side exploding on pitches on the inner half. Howed a mature and very competitive approach to the game. Solid tool set that projects well. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
