2006 National Underclass Showcase
Sean Adelman is a 2008 RHP with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Boynton Beach FL, who attends West Boca Raton HS. He has a rangy, long build with good present strength. Adelman throws with a fast, loose arm with little effort. He has good body control and can repeat his delivery well. Adelman's release point is low 3/4's, which gave his fastball nasty sinking action at times. He was also able to ride his fastball up above hitters hands on a couple of occasions when he got under the ball. Adelman's fastball was steady at 89-91mph, topping at 92. It looks like with his body type and arm speed/looseness that he should be able to keep gaining a bit more velocity, too, as he gets older and more mature. Adelman's breaking ball is a project right now based on this look. It was a slurvy 78 mph slider that he didn't have much feel for and had little consistency with. We've seen him with a better breaking ball but it's obviously an important area for him to work on. We didn't see a change up but that will be a nice pitch for him at the next level with the life he'll probably get on it. Adelman is a top level prospect who will likely get plenty of pro type attention if he keeps developing. He was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team.
