Anthony Orta-Carrion is a 2017 C/3B with a 5-10 188 lb. frame from Trujillo Alto, PR who attends Colegio San Jose de Rio Piers. The primary catcher has a compact frame that projects to add size as he matures. Showed well in the catchers workout posting a solid round of throws to second base. He was consistently accurate to the bag, showed good balance thought his movements, and has good receiving skills. At the plate he has a wide and open stance with an active barrel. Utilizes a toe tap for timing, swings from a high launch position, works up to to the ball with strength at impact, and gets his lower half to a strong power L position. Good student.
