Aidan Hoffman is a 2019 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Sewell, NJ who attends Clearview. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.00 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder smooth footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels well and worked through exchange with fluidity. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating stiff, accurate carry to the bag at 85 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing clean footwork while moving to and surrounding the baseball. Funnels from a slightly deeper position and worked through exchange efficiently. Released from a lower three-quarters arm slot created good carry to the bag at 84 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions and utilized an uphill barrel plane through extension. Displayed present bat speed through the zone and generated tight back spin off the barrel when squared. Consistently worked to the middle of the field showing good jump off the barrel to each gap. Also pitched utilizing a rock step to small leg lift delivery. Deep arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated solid downhill angle through the zone with some run to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with loose spin and some depth in the low 60's. Looked to challenge hitters to the bottom quadrants of the strike zone. Good student as well.
