Zachary Colon is a 2018 C/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Cutler Bay, FL who attends Miami Palmetto Senior. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary catcher wit a balanced stance while setting up to receive. Smooth paced, deliberate footwork while gaining ground to the bag. Clean, loose exchanged and released from an extended arm slot. Throws generated softer, accurate carry to the bag topping at 65 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 2.18. Right handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Creates slight hand coil at load and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Stayed balanced throughout and consistently worked to the middle of the field. Flashed the ability to work to other was as well with occasional jump off the barrel. Outstanding student.
