2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Justin Crawford is a 2006 RHP/1B from Pleasure Ridge Park HS in Louisville, KY, with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame. He has good strong hips and thighs that help give him the velocity he shows on the mound. Crawford has a short, compact arm action with very good arm speed. He has a simple delivery that he repeats well. Crawford's fastball topped out at 87 mph with good life and got on hitters quickly. His 69 mph curveball had a slurve type of break and could ideally be thrown at a higher velocity. Crawford's change up is a good pitch as well. Crawford also shows tools as an outfield prospect. He threw 83 mph from the outfield and ran the 60 in 7.39. He has a line drive approach at the plate and a quick bat with gap to gap power potential. Crawford is also a solid student off the field.
