2021 Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Nick Martinez is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Nanuet, NY who attends St. Joseph Regional. Big and strong physical build. Right handed hitter, big leg lift trigger and lower half coil to start his swing, aggressive swing and is looking to drive the ball, has bat speed and lift in his swing, explodes his hands well, turned in front shoulder and big barrel tilt creates some length, power approach. Primary third baseman on defense, has a long and loose arm action with very good carry on his throws, has the ability to change arm slots, will continue to improve with work on his lower half quickness and agility. Also pitched, slow paced delivery with energy at release, early hand separation. Upper 80's fastball, mostly straight, gets on hitters quickly. Slurve type breaking ball with some depth to it at times, became more and more slider shape the more he threw it. Two-way power bat/power arm talent. Very good student, verbal commitment to Florida International. Named to the Fall Top Prospect National Showcase Top Prospect Team.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
