Kavi Caster is a 2019 OF/LHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Crofton, MD who attends South River. Primary outfielder with a large frame, athletic build and room to fill out, 6.70 runner in the 60. Glides in the outfield with long and easy strides, moves to and through the ball to keep momentum while throwing. Shows present arm strength with smooth transitions to throw and online carry with accuracy to the bases. Hits from a wider, crouched and slightly closed base, high hand set with an elevated back elbow position. Shows present bat speed with lift in the swing path complimenting a pull side power approach at the plate. Creates hard contact in the barrel consistently and looks to get extended out front. Also pitches, using an easy, slow and deliberate delivery, with a higher leg lift while creating a slight crossfire step to the plate. Small and compact arm circle in the back and delivers through a high 3/4 arm slot to the plate with a fully extended follow through. Fastball shows arm side life and sits in the middle 70's, topping at 80 mph. Lands the slider, with 2/8 shape, at will and shows good feel for spinning it with depth. Good student.
