Jordan Briones is a 2018 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Stanton College Prep. Medium build and frame, athleticism, present strength, and room to continue to fill out physically. Primary left handed pitcher, started with a side step delivery, leg raise to belt, deeper arm circle through the back, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Drop and drive element to delivery with smooth tempo. Worked the lower third of the zone with a fastball that showed cutting action at 74-77 mph. Showed a curveball with 1/7 shape and replicated arm speed and raw feel to spin the ball. Changeup worked at 71 mph and filled the zone. Showed good feel for his off-speed pitches and mixed them well. Generated a lot of weak contact and showed high levels of pitchibility. Secondary outfielder, used a crow hop and threw from a high three quarter slot. Showed a longer arm action with arm strength up to 79 mph. At the plate, started with an upright stance, even base, and a balanced hand load. Generates good extension through the zone with a naturally lofted plane. Should shift more weight into contact. Worked all fields with raw hand speed and a level swing plane. Outstanding student.
