Deven Shulstad is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 6-4 145 lb. frame from Lutz, FL who attends Tampa Catholic HS. Shulstad has a long lean projectable body. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long full arm action. His top half leans back at balance point and his frontside flies open. He pitches with some effort and he has some head jerk at release. Shulstad has some slinging action to his delivery and he spins over his front foot at release. His front foot lands pointed slightly open and he gets some sink on his fastball. He throws a 1/7 curveball with looser spin and developing shape to it. He also throws a change up at 62 MPH with some sink. Good student.
