Carson Luna is a 2024 SS/MIF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. John's. Primary shortstop with a strong athletic build showing strength and projectability to build on moving forward. Displays high end defensive skills with the glove. Does a nice job working around the ball with his body showing good footwork and putting himself in position to make plays in all directions. The athleticism plays in his ability to make plays off balance and change the arm slot while maintaining accuracy and carry on the throws. Right-handed hitter starts slightly open with a short stride and little hand movement pre-swing. Displays high level skills at the point of impact driving the ball from center field to the pull side with little effort allowing him to stay simple with the approach as it translated to game plays with multiple hard barrels to the pull side. Very good student. Named to the 2023 South Top Prospects Games Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to the University of Texas.
