Shane Williams is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Georgetown, MA who attends St. John's Preparatory. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes quick strides moving towards the ball, projects well with additional refinements to lower half mechanics, shorter stride through release, shorter arm action through the back and shows nice carry when on top of the ball. Also pitched, hides it well through the backside working to a high three-quarters release point; quick arm through the backside and creates plane on fastball. Topped out at 81 mph, worked around the zone and creates some angle to glove side; curveball shows bite to it with 11-5 shape, got hitters to swing over the top and landed it for strikes in the low-70s. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Creates torque and separation in swing, shows quickness to hands and projects with additional physical strength. Loose swing and creates some whip with the barrel, ball comes off well when squared to pull side. Excellent student.
