Jose Miqueo is a 2023 1B/3B with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Southampton, NJ who attends Paolo Prep Academy. Jose is a bigger athlete and showed good footwork at first base with turning the double plays. A bit of a pat pat with hand and glove after fielding, nice short arm action and accuracy on throws. Just needs to clean up the gather and transfer to be quicker. Offensively, Miqueo setups with a wider base and slightly open stance. Hands drift back into position and causes him to have a longer swing. When hands drop into slot, the bat head drops and the angle through the zone to the baseball is a bit flat. Jose shows some good strength driving the baseball to both gaps, but increased bat speed will help progress his ability to consistently make harder contact. Jose is an exceptional student in the classroom.
