Grant Shulman is a 2019 RHP/3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Wall, NJ who attends Wall. Large, athletic frame with wiry strength. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.14 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a side step to high leg lift delivery. Uptempo actions to balanced but maintains balance at gather. Full arm action back at separation and released from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumped out of hand clean with shorter running action to arm side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball had softer spin with some sweeping action to arm side in the mid 60's. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a changeup offering, but showed good feel to located down in the zone in the low 70's. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Sound glove actions while funneling out front and working through transition. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating on line, accurate carry to the bag topping at 81 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Maintains balance throughout swing with linear lower half actions to contact. Direct hand path to contact and barrel came through the zone on a naturally leveraged plane. Consistently repeated path and plane creating hard line drives to each gap. Good student. Named to the 2017 Sunshine Northeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
