2018 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Connor Baksh is a 2019 OF/RHP, 1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Wall, NJ who attends Christian Brothers Academy. Broad shoulders with a strong, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary outfielder with smooth, clean footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Fluid glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange with loose actions. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry to the bag at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and produced good bat speed and strength at contact. Ball consistently jumped of the barrel with authority producing very good carry to the gaps. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Simple leg raise and stayed flexed on back side at gather. Released from a high energy three-quarters arm slot producing some arm side run in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Flashed the ability to work from a side arm slot as well in the mid 70's. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth in the upper 70's. Consistently landed each offering within the zone and challenged hitters. Named to the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
