Ed McAleer is a 2007 RHP/3B with a 5'8'', 150 lb. frame from Brentwood NY, who attends St Anthony's. McAleer has a shorter body with a stocky build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and uses a long arm action. He has some tension in his arm and is a high effort pitcher. McAleer has a short quick wind-up and works quick. His fastball has armside run and sink when down in the zone. He throws an 11/5 curveball with big break. Defensively, McAleer has good feet and works to the ball well. He has good hands and can make the picks. He throws from a low arm angle which effects carry on his throws. At the plate, McAleer starts with a narrow base and a quiet approach in the box. He uses a no load approach and has a short simple swing. He has present gap to gap power and is a solid contact hitter. He gets the barrel through the zone well and gets the bat head to the ball. McAleer is a very good student.
