Gregory Bennett is a 2017 MIF/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Peosta, IA who attends Western Dubuque. Medium frame with a very athletic, lean build. Projects for additional size and strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.52 sixty-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, stays low while traveling to the baseball with clean, athletic footwork. Generated good momentum to the bag while working through transition with clean glove actions. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot flashing good arm strength topping at 88 miles per hour to the bag. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing athletic actions while rounding and closing to the baseball. Clean, fundamental glove action while picking up the baseball and working through exchange. Throws produced solid on line carry to the bag with accuracy topping at 92 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, open stance and high back elbow set. Moves into contact well with linear lower half actions. Direct path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but shows the present bat speed and strength to drive the baseball through the alleys. Very good student. Committed to Iowa Western CC. Named to the 2017 National Pre-Draft Top Prospect List.
