2014 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Allen Cruz is a 2016 SS/2B with a 5-8 158 lb. frame from Belleville, NJ who attends Belleville HS. Cruz has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has high energy actions with athletic footwork. Cruz plays through the ball well and has quick transfers. He throws with a short arm action with developing arm strength. At the plate, Cruz is a switch hitter. From the right side, he starts with a high hand set with a square stance. He has a short quick swing with an aggressive approach. He gets some extension and has some pop. From the left side, he uses the same approach with a short path to the baseball. Presently he swings it better from the right side and projects better from the right side. Excellent student.
