James Filterman is a 2017 MIF/3B, OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Riviera Beach, FL who attends Highlands Christian Academy. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.87 seconds. Sets up to hit from wide-based stance with high hands and back elbow in set, small stride forward into swing, quick hands into swing with compact path and line drive plane. Shows some bat speed, flashed ability to work to all fields on a line. Worked out defensively in the outfield, showed smoothness and athleticism through footwork and actions, moves in on the ball well and fields cleanly, quick release from compact arm stroke, showed very good arm strength with carry to target, arm strength clocked up to 86 MPH on throws. Very good student.
