Chance Howard is a 2018 OF/RHP, IF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Princeton, NC who attends Rosewood High School. Medium build and frame, broad shoulders, athleticism, and room to continue to develop physically and add strength. Posted a 7.12 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a long, loose arm action, good accuracy, carry on throws, and big arm strength up to 88 mph. At the plate, started with an open stance, narrow base, medium hand set, and a high back elbow. Showed quickness to hands and good bat speed. Line drive swing plane and worked through the ball well. Compact hands to the ball with a pull oriented approach. Good barrel control with feel for timing. Made consistent hard contact to all fields. Also pitched, started with a leg raise to the belt, crossfire element, long, mostly loose arm action, online landing, and threw form a three quarter arm slot. Landed on a stiff front leg over front side with a heel turn finish. Fastball worked 81-83/84 mph with arm side life and angle to the lower third of the zone. Also showed a curveball with 11/5 shape and big depth with developing spin. Showed feel for changeup with replicated arm speed and sink to the lower part of the zone for a swing and miss. Exceptional student. Named to Top Prospect List.
