J.T. Bernard is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Douglasville, GA who attends Woodward Academy. Strong athletic build. Slow paced deliberate delivery, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, works downhill well and is balanced and on line out front. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, mostly straight but with occasional run and sink down in the zone, can work his fastball down more frequently. Nice change up with some fade and sink. Shows depth on a big downer curveball. Developing command and the ability to mix his pitches well be key. Left handed hitter, arm bar load, upright stance, long and strong swing, has some strength at contact and power potential, hits to the middle to pull side of the field, has some hitting tools. Excellent student.
