Logan Ammons is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Douglass, TX who attends Douglass HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. Directional delivery with a good hip turn, full clean arm circle, high 3/4's arm slot, arm is loose and easy coming throw, tends to fall off to the first base side on release, especially from the stretch, impacting command. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, maintained velocity well, consistent fastball life with running and sinking action arm side and cutting action glove side. Works between a curveball and a slider, best spin and depth are curveball velocities with 11/7 shape, nice change up with some feel, mixes up his pitches and has a feel for changing speeds. Shows good athleticism in the outfield, clean mechanics and footwork, strong arm with accurate throws. Right handed hitter, spread bent knee stance, short pull oriented swing, lacks the present strength to drive the ball but projects to keep improving. Solid all around athlete. Good student.
