Philip Barnett is a 2016 RHP/OF, 1B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Newton, MA who attends Newton North. Tall, strongly built, lean frame with more room to add strength. Ran a 7.10 60 yard dash. Pitches from an over the top arm slot and has a loose arm action. Stays online with his delivery and tops at 76 mph with his fastball. Flashes a 12-6 curveball with good depth at 64 mph. Also uses a 66 mph changeup with good arm speed. Spots his pitches well. Also swung the bat, carries his hands high and gets good extension. Starts upright and narrow. Takes an aggressive swing and shows good life off his barrel. Shows solid carry on his throws from the outfield and makes accurate throws. Also moves well around first base. Excellent student.
