Drake Dobyanski is a 2018 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Naples, FL who attends Gulf Coast HS. Medium, athletic build with with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.95 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with short and quick steps, quick arm and does a nice job of consistently getting on top of ball from a higher arm slot, nice carry out of the hand with present arm strength, repeats actions well and shows accuracy. Also pitched, leg lift up slightly past belt, gets tall on backside, sound mechanics for a secondary position and repeats them well. Works exclusively out of the stretch, filled up the strike zone and showed short running life to fastball that topped out at 79 mph, flashed a short 12-6 curveball and threw for strikes. Switch-hitter, righthanded swing a bit more natural from the right side at present. Begins with an upright and even stance, uses a toe tap trigger for timing. Line drive swing plane with a simple and direct path, nice feel for the barrel and works all fields, shows hand speed. Even and upright stance from the left side, uses a high leg lift trigger for timing. More of a contact approach and able to work all fields, gets to front side early at times, keeps hands in through point of contact and gets extended out front. Shows barrel feel from both sides. Named to Main Event Top Prospect List. Very good student.
