Christian Castro is a 2018 OF/SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Orlando, FL. Medium frame, broad shoulders, athletic build with room to fill out. Right handed hitter, wide base with pointed back toe. Extended hand trigger, deeper hand position, gets barrel through the path quickly, shows solid bat speed and efficient hand path to the ball. Feel for the barrel, able to repeat approach and hit balls solidly with line-drive swing plane, goes with pitch location and hits where it is pitched. Flashes defensive fundamentals in both outfield and infield, moves well and fields out in front in the outfield. Shows soft hands, quick transfer and release from the infield. Very good student.
