John Goolsby is a 2016 RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Alabaster, AL who attends Thompson HS. Medium athletic build, broad-shouldered with good present strength. High energy delivery, front side can open early, still lands square and maintains balance. Works out of high 3/4 arm slot, has some plane, but can lose downhill angle with early rotation,quick arm and better downhill angle when lower half is synced with upper body. Fastball up to 85 mph, shows sink when located down in strike zone. Works in breaking ball with 10/4 shape and depth. Mixes in a rare, developing change up. Shows solid arsenal, confident approach and works quickly. Excellent student.
