Clayton Jones is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Coppell, TX who attends Coppell HS. Tall and slender build, young look, projects well physically. Right handed hitter, tall stance with an early stride towards contact, big wrapped barrel to start his swing, long swing, will have to reduce wrap to adjust to higher velocity pitching, loose swing once he gets the barrel moving into the zone, spray line drive contact. 7.39 runner, works through the ball well in the outfield, good footwork and fundamentals, accurate on line throws, good balance, arm strength should develop nicely. Also pitched, simple turn and throw delivery, over the top release point with some lean off on release, works downhill. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, commanded fastball well. Curveball showed some good downer depth. Good young athlete, fixing the big barrel wrap will be key to development.
