2019 PG Florida Top Prospect Games at Miami
Anthony Nelson is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends American Heritage HS. Athletic build with a shorter stature and room for additional strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher who only pithed during the event. Simple delivery with a leg raise and coil above the belt. Short, online arm stroke and hides the ball very well. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with slight crossfire to the landing leg. Fights front side some at release but throws a lot of strikes. Fastball topped out at 85 mph and tunnels all three pitches out of a similar arm slot. Good sinking life on the fastball and kept the pitch at the knees. Advanced feel to spin and can land a sharp breaking ball while also burying on the backfoot. Showed a changeup with some potential. Really knows how to pitch, mix speeds, and advanced spin has the makings of a future out pitch.
