Caleb Upshaw is a 2017 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Newnan, GA who attends Northgate HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves to the ball with shorter steps, does a nice job of working through the ball and staying on line with release, full arm action in the back and works to a higher release point, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy to intended base. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open and upright stance in the box. Loads weight onto backside at start, does a nice job of getting closed with high leg lift trigger. Full swing path through the zone, looks to generate lift at point of contact and can do so when extended. Physical strength plays in swing, works the pull side with comfort and shows carry to left-center field gap when on time. Very good student.
