Gene Napolitano is a 2017 C/2B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Morganville, NJ who attends Marlboro High School. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build with present strength and quick-twitch to frame. Ran a 4.87 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts with a lower set behind the plate, receives the ball out front and shows a quick transfer out of glove, some moving parts to release but gets on top of throws well and gains ground with low half towards second base, 2.03 best pop time. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Gets the barrel to the ball consistent and shows an overall strong feel for barrel head, can create some loft at contact and shows solid bat speed with loud contact and jump off the barrel. Solid hitting tools across the board. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Very good student.
