Quinton Kalem Smithwick is a 2015 RHP/2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Orange Grove, TX who attends Orange Grove HS. Large, athletic build with long, lean limbs, high waist and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 6.84 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a short and quick arm action coming through the back side. Up tempo delivery with a high leg raise, gets on top of the ball well with nice life on fastball when down in the zone, works over front side well. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, worked comfortably in the 87-90 mph, comes out of hand easily and maintained velocity throughout. Run to arm side when down. Attacked with fastball, showed sharp, late breaking 11-5 life on curveball at 74 mph and changeup at 77 mph. Named to South Uncommitted Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
