Alex Smith is a 2016 OF/ with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Blanchard, OK who attends Blanchard. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows a short arm action on throws, ball comes out of hand clean and easy, projects well with incorporation of lower half into actions, fields out front, accurate throws with some carry. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow. Upper body swing, shows a direct path to the ball and keeps hands in through swing. Has a feel for the barrel, simple and repeatable swing, creates line drive contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Moves well on the base. Excellent student.
