Daniel Alcala is a 2023 IF/3B with a 5-9 125 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Montgomery. Slender developing build, not finished growing into his frame yet. Primary infielder, glove works out in front with a clean funnel. Does not work through the baseball well but gets himself in position quickly. Has some feel for the position and throws across the diamond are accurate. Still developing fluid overall actions. At the plate, uses an upright stance that hunches over the plate slightly with a mid leg kick trigger. Has a tendency to get out over his front side through his extension. Barrel plane is flat through the zone with a middle to pull side approach.
