James "Trey" Cline is a 2018 SS/3B/RHP with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Cypress Falls HS. Cline has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he showed balanced actions and an extra step in the workout. He has nice hands and clean transfers and release. Cline has some arm strength up to 77 MPH and projects best presently at 2B or 3B. At the plate he starts with a high hand set and uses a high leg lift trigger. He has a bat wrapped start and gets extension out front He made solid contact to right center field and showed some barrel feel. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a balanced directional delivery. He throws a 11/5 curveball with some shape and spin to it. Outstanding student.
