Brett Owen is a 2017 2B/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Blanchard, OK who attends Blanchard HS. Compact-medium frame with broad shoulders, lean build, has room to fill out. Right handed hitter, wider base with high back elbow set. Hands close to body, small stride and shift, stays short to the baseball, efficient swing path. Repeats mechanics well and shows fluidity, ability to match plane with swing. Solid bat speed and hand quickness, repeatedly dripped line-drives to the pullside, including some extra-base power in game action. Worked out in the infield, surrounds the ball well and fields out in front. Developing footwork, has a quick transfer and ball comes out of hand well from lower arm-slot, accurate throws across the diamond. Good athleticism, body control. Ran a 6.77 60-yard dash. Very good student.
