Alexander Lopez is a 2019 C/3B, OF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Lamar High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength, proportioned well throughout frame and incorporates well into offensive approach. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a square stance in the box and moves into contact with limited shift through lower half. Swings shows both looseness and quickness through the zone and shows a steady feel for the barrel at the point of contact. Gets the barrel to the ball easily with present bat speed, stays short to the ball with leverage at point of contact, looks to pull the ball and shows nice power potential. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, full arm stroke with deep takeaway, gets on top of throws and shows on line carry with accuracy to second base, arm strength will continue to develop with additional lower half incorporated into release.
