Cole McDonald is a 2015 RHP/SS with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from New Hampton, IA who attends New Hampton HS. Young slender build, has some wiry present strength with room for more. Fast paced delivery, strides out well, medium lengthy arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, some effort and head pull on release but repeats well. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, mostly straight, very aggressive challenging with fastballs, gets good downhill angle, consistent late swings against his fastball. Hard curveball spin with sharp biting action, good 11/5 depth, change up is straight but has ideal arm speed. Could mix better but filled up the strike zone and dominated. Impressive performance in his first Perfect Game event and we look forward to seeing plenty more. Good student. Named to the Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase Top Prospect Team.
