Adam Marquit is a 2007 2B/SS from Trinity HS in New York, NY, with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame. Adam posted a very quick 6.99 sixty time on a slow track and a 4.33 home to first time. Offensively he is a right handed hitter with good hand strength and laced the ball during the games. Marquit has an advanced approach with college level bat speed, and he attacks the ball which will allow him to hit with power at the next level. Marquit showed the ability to hit to all fields and showed good contact and hands in batting practice as well as in live game action. He can handle the wood bat very well. In the infield he has 79 mph arm strength across the diamond with solid online carry, and he shows nice footwork and soft hands. Marquit needs to shorten his arm arch to quicken his release when turning double plays and he has the athletic ability and hands to make that adjustment. He has good range to both sides and can handle either middle infield spot. Marquit was named to the Top Prospect team and is a very good follow.
