Brandyn Adney is a 2008 right hand hitting outfielder (2B) from Albany HS, residing in Albany, CA. He has a 5'11" 160 lb. frame and a wiry, high waist build. His body is pretty athletic and he has the look of someone with some speed and a little twitchiness. Adney has a well-rounded set of abilities that should play well at the college level. Offensively he has good bat speed and a short swing. He is a contact hitter with some bat control, suggesting that he would be well-suited to the two-hole. His swing plane is flat and he can hit the ball to all fields, hitting line drives and ground balls. Adney competes well at the plate. Defensively he has a long arm stroke and showed some arm strength. He approaches the ball well, athletically and under control. He runs well, making centerfield a possibility. He plays hard and plays with passion, in the field, at the plate and on the bases. He is a college bound player who has a chance to contribute at the D1 level because of his approach to the game. He stood out on numerous occasions at this event, even among a group of players that for the most part are more physically developed with bigger tools than he has right now, yet another indication of the type of ballplayer he is.
