Yordany Salva is a 2014 C with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Vega Alta, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium athletic build, good present strength. Very good catch and throw skills behind the plate, low flexible set with quick feet and shifting/blocking skills, good compact exchange and release, solid arm strength with on line accurate throws, could probably lengthen his stride just a bit throwing, very sound all around defensive package. Switch hitter, better from the right side at present, rotational swing with limited stride or shift, loose swing with some hand quickness, pull line drive contact, can improve with adjustments. Similar approach left handed with less bat speed and hand quickness. Good student.
