Steven Grimsley is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Winter Springs, Florida, who attends Winter Springs HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Grimsley has an athletic frame with good projectability. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm. He stays online to the plate and stays tall over the rubber. He showed his present arm strength as his fastball topped out at 86 mph. He also gets good life on the pitch. Grimsley throws a loose curveball at 70 mph, and mixes in a change-up at 74 mph with sink. Defensively he makes accurate throws from the outfield, and has good arm strength (84 mph). He moves well in the outfield with instincts and reactions. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a rotational swing. He gets good bat speed through the hitting zone. Grimsley is a line drive contact hitter who makes consistent contact. He is a good student as well.
