Joey Butler II is a 2018 RHP/ with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends O'Dea. Large frame with broad shoulders, long limbs and present strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. High leg lift and creates coil over back leg at gather. Utilized lower half well while working to the plate with tall and fall actions. Clean arm circle at separation and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Generating good arm speed through extension with a fastball that showed heavy running life to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and some depth to the bottom of the zone. Generated best bite with curveball when maintaining arm speed through finish. Consistently attacked hitters with fastball and worked to the bottom of the strike zone each inning. Will continue to develop with further development and implementation of off speed. Excellent student as well.
