Patrick Downey is a 2015 OF/RHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Cheshire, CT who attends Xavier HS. Medium, athletic build. Ran a 7.19 60 yard dash. Shows a long outfield arm action and above average arm strength. Bats right-handed, works from a closed setup and shows good lift in his swing. Stays short to the baseball and hits well to his pull side. Also took the mound, reached 80 mph from an over the top arm slot. Also mixes in a 63 mph curveball with 12-6 rotation, needs to tighten it up. Velocity climbed as outing moved along. Has a clean delivery. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect Team.
