Andres Sanchez is a 2017 C/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from North Miami, FL who attends Monsignor Edward Pace HS. Large frame with strong, athletic build throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.40 seconds. Sets up to hit with even stance to the plate, small leg lift trigger, simplistic load and overall approach. Good balance in swing, deep hand load but comes out of it well and gets on plane. Lifts the ball into the air consistently and shows the ability to drive it some, most contact in the air to mid/pull field with solid backspin off the barrel. Will get stronger and have more power at maturity. Showed well defensively at the catcher position, receives well with soft hands and transfers quickly from glove to hand. Excellent fundamentals throughout defensive actions. Repeats mechanics very well, shows good arm strength with accuracy down to 2B, up to 77 MPH. Popped as low as 1.96 seconds. Very good student.
