Michael Panicaro is 5'10"/185,(2007) left handed pitcher from Cape Coral, FL. On the mound he showed loose arm action and good arm arch with good arm speed. His fastball was 76-79 mph with lots of movement, Panicaro threw a slider up to 72 mph with good backdoor action to right handed hitters. The slider looks like his out pitch that he'll go to in tough situations. His 69 mph change up had plus sinking action. Panicaro showed above average command of all his pitches. He knows how to set hitters up and can work both sides of the plate. It looks like hitters have a hard time picking the ball up out of his hand judging by their swings. Panicaro also looks like a very competitive type of pitcher who isn't going to give in. In short, he gets hitters out and wins games despite below average velocity on his pitches. If he starts throwing in the mid-80's with the same deception and the same quality and command of his pitches, he'll be able to pitch at a high level for a long time. Panicaro also showed us a nice swing as a left handed hitting first baseman. He has bat speed and hit balls down in the zone hard. He's a good student. Keep an eye on him.
