William Bowdoin is a 2018 RHP/SS with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from St. Simons Island, GA who attends Glynn Academy. Younger player with a lean, slender build, broad shoulders, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.15 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a slow leg raise to belt, landed on-line to the plate, simple delivery, medium arm action through the back with hook, and threw from an extended three quarter arm slot. Very quick arm with good extension down the mound. Fastball worked 84-87/88 mph with good arm side life and around the zone effectively. Effort to delivery, but athletic enough to repeat and maintain velocity. Showed good feel for a pair of breaking balls with an 11/5 curveball and shorter breaking slider. Curveball was more polished of two with late snap. Also worked out from the infield, showed similar arm strength up to 90 mph with tremendous carry out of the hand. Charges the ball well with developing transfer skills. At the plate, started with an upright stance, even base, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Very balanced swing with a simple, direct line drive plane. Showed good carry off the barrel with power to pull side gap. Showed raw bat speed with strength to drive. Exceptional student. Named to Top Prospect List.
