Shane Baz is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Concordia Lutheran HS. Very athletic build, long and loose and very projectable. Athletic delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, very fast arm coming through, uses his lower half to generate power, front side mechanics are not always consistent, very good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 92 this day, is regularly up to 95 mph, mostly straight with good plane to the plate. Slider has tight spin and very good depth at times, developing a feel for his change up. Has also added a cutter since that is a potential plus pitch. Big key for the future is going to be his fastball command, has all the pitches and the athleticism. Shows big power at the plate, right handed hitter with bat speed and a loose and long swing with some lift, is aggressive at the plate and has some barrel skills. Good student, verbal commitment to TCU. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
