Cody Malan is a 2016 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Rochester, MN who attends Mayo HS. Medium athletic build. Over the top arm action with a big head tilt and upper body lean to get his arm through, difficult delivery to maintain balance and direction, some drop and drive to the plate, has some downhill plane, some energy at release, has deception to the hitter. Mid-70's fastball, mostly straight. Big breaking slow curveball is effective, throws strikes with both pitches. Right handed hitter, short swing, starts hands high and swings down to the ball, swings hard and flashed some pull power. Plays both outfield and infield as well. Good student.
